100 YEARS OF TEXTILE AND FIBER RESEARCH
2006 - The DITF is given new statutes and new management structures: from now on, the research center is managed by two scientific boards and an administrative board. This is followed by a commercial and organizational realignment: previously decentralized areas of the administration are merged and a uniform marketing system is developed.
2011 - The DITF turn 90 years old. The anniversary is celebrated in a fitting manner with a festive evening and a festive colloquium with guests from politics, business and science. In the same year, the prize "Selected Place in the Land of Ideas" is awarded to Denkendorf under the patronage of the Federal President. After the ITV was already honored in 2007 and 2009, this time the ITCF is recognized for its pioneering research in the field of high-performance fibers.
2013 - Project Infratech: Under the motto "one location for everything", the technical centers in the Körschtal are concentrated and modernized and expanded in the coming years. Among other things, the modern central testing laboratory, a larger lighting laboratory and new machinery for the prototype construction workshop will be built.
2014 - With the High-Performance Fiber Center (HPFC) at the DITF, the first public research and development center for high-performance fibers is opened in Germany. It has the world's most modern facilities for the efficient development of high-performance fibers on an area of approx. 1000 m². Research focuses are on carbon fibers made from natural raw materials and ceramic fibers.
