Wet spinning tests can be carried out at the DITF in the gram range up to small-scale production in the kilogram range. Conventional wet spinning systems and special airgap spinning processes are available to produce highly oriented yarns for technical applications. All spinning systems are of modular design and can be flexibly adapted to the spinning mass rheology and required fiber property profiles.
The fibres are wound as multifilaments on bobbins - a basic requirement for technical use, for example, as precursors for carbon fibre production or for use in composite materials. The range of filaments is up to 25 - 12000 (12K). Special cutting machines are available for the production of staple fibers (range of 1 to 60 mm).
A key technology at the DITF is the continuous production of highly concentrated spinning masses by shear reactors.
