DITF's polymerization technologies develop polymers to spin novel fibers. By incorporating special monomers or additives during polymer synthesis, a variety of new functions can be added to conventional fiber polymers in addition to developing completely new polymers. The focus is on cost-effective, sustainable processes with the potential for practical industrial applications.
Stable, storable and efficient 1-component mixtures for the production of fiber composites are developed with the aid of novel, latent catalyst systems. Activation is triggered when a certain temperature is reached, which releases the active catalyst and starts polymerization.
The matrix systems’ almost unlimited pot lives below the activation temperature enable simple handling of the matrix system on a large scale and the production of composite materials with excellent material properties and high quality in short cycle times.
